The planetarium
The newest addition and it’s a fabulous cinematic experience where you lay back in a theatre and listen to Aurora tell you all about her dance. Watch the illustrated story, listen to the beautiful music, and enjoy the footage of the Northern Lights. A great way to see them is to visit in the summer.
Perlan Ice Cave
Next up is the artificial ice cave which is a very cool (haha) experience. Wander around the cave and ice tunnels, and sit on the ice throne. The ice formation is so beautiful and it’s a fun experience if you don’t have a glacier on your itinerary.
The Wonders of Iceland exhibition
The exhibition gives you a great overview of Iceland, its formation, and its history. There are maps, videos, installations, and loads of models and interactive screens. Make sure to pop up to the 5th floor for a view across Reykjavik and enjoy a cup of coffee in the cafe. There’s free parking, it’s a short drive up to Perlan and there’s free parking on site.
The exhibition, planetarium, and ice cave at Perlan, Wonders of Iceland was amazing and we highly recommend visiting if you’re in or coming to Reykjavik.
