5 Games We’re Looking Forward to in December
The holiday season is well underway, with Mariah Carey on the radio and enough Christmas trees to fill a forest. As people get their Christmas lists situated, see the 5 games we at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to in December. Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.
5 Games We’re Looking Forward to in December
SaGa: Scarlet Grace – Ambitions
The twelfth entry in the SaGa series, Square-Enix’s JRPG SaGa: Scarlet Grace – Ambitions makes it stateside this December. Players will take control of protagonists Urpina, Leonard, Taria, and Balmaint as they work through separate scenarios, though each character can pick up a group of followers along the way. We’re especially looking forward to diving headfirst into its combat and leveling system, which includes the “Timeline,” Techniques, and the strengthening of weapons and armor.
SaGa: Scarlet Grace – Ambitions will come out for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita and PC on December 3.
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition
After making the rounds on the PC in 2018, Skybound Games is bringing Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition to consoles this month. New to this release are fixes made by the community since the last release, a number of graphical improvements, multiple premium modules, and a return to a multiplayer server list. We’re especially looking forward to diving into its 60+ hours of gameplay, taking on its multiple side quests.
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on December 6.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
A BattleTech “Mecha” title, Piranha Games is bringing MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries to gamers this month. Set in 3015 during the final decade of the Third Succession War, players will take on the role of a rookie mercenary MechWarrior that is rising from the ashes of a demolished mercenary unit. We’re especially looking forward to its graphical prowess, which includes raytracing and DLSS.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will come out for the Xbox One and PC on December 10.
Star Ocean: First Departure R
Square-Enix is taking players back to the beginning of the series with the release of Star Ocean: First Departure R. An enhanced port, this title features voice actors, animated cutscenes and character portraits, and new character designs. We’re especially looking forward to diving into its story, which merges sci-fi and fantasy and stars Roddick Farrence, a Fellpool living on planet Roak.
Star Ocean: First Departure R will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on December 5.
Darksiders Genesis
Taking the series in a different direction, Airship Syndicate and THQ Nordic’s Darksiders Genesis takes the series and transforms it into a top-down hack and slash title. Players will take on the role of Strife and War, and can play through the title in co-op. We’re especially looking forward to use the title’s burst abilities and diving into its world with a friend.
Darksiders Genesis will come out for the PC and Google Stadia on December 5.
What we at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to the most:
We at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to Darksiders Genesis the most. The idea of Darksiders as a looter game intrigues us, and its co-op focus sounds like it will be a breath of fresh air for the series.
