Inventory weight, or Mass, quickly becomes a problem in Starfield, very quickly. This guide on How To Store Items On Your Ship In Starfield gives you access to a huge storage system where you can use your ship to hold 4x your characters capacity, and that can be improved with bigger ships.

Every item you carry has a weight or Mass, this determines how heavy the item is. When you are inspecting your character’s inventory you can see the Mass limit in the lower left corner. If you are carrying items over your Mass limit, you will not be able to fast travel and you will lose oxygen when sprinting at much harsher rates.
