Visions of Mana

Ouka Studios and Square Enix are returning to the world of Mana with the release of their new action RPG Visions of Mana this month.

The first mainline game in the series since 2006 (has it really been that long?!), Visions of Mana has a strong pedigree behind it. For longtime fans, Composers Hiroki Kikuta, Tsyyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki will make their return, alongside Designer/Director Koichi Ishii and Producer Masaru Oyamada.

Players will take control of Val, who hails from the Fire Village of Tianeea. Joined by Hunna, they set out to travel to the Mana Tree in this action RPG that is set in a semi-open world.

Visions of Mana willl come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 29, 2024.

Star Wars Outlaws

The massive Star Wars universe is coming to the world of gaming in a big scale with the release of Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft’s action-adventure title Star Wars Outlaws.

Following the story of scoundrel Kay Wess, polayers will set out to explore its open world in their starship, The Trailblazer. Space combat, a grappling hook, and a blaster all make sure there is never a dull moment in this title.

Star Wars Outlaws will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 30, 2024.

Black Myth: Wukong

Game Science will turn their attention to the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West with their upcoming release of the action RPG Black Myth: Wukong this August.

True to the series, players will follow the story of the Destined One and their Ruyi Jungu Bang staff, which lends itself to its combat. Players will take the fight against a number of different yaoguai enemies, all while finding shrines that save progress.

Black Myth: Wukong will come out for the PlayStation 5 and PC on August 20, 2024.

Creatures of Ava

Flipping the script on the genre, Inverge Studiso and 11 bit studios will have players saving creatures in their new title Creatures of Ava.

Joining the young nature explorer Vic, players will make an expedittion to the titular planet of Ava as they tame more than 20 different creatures through the use of a special flute.

Along the way, players will learn of Ava’s naam inhabitants, all while saving the world from an infection known as “the withering.”

Creatures of Ava will come out for the box Series X|S and PC on August 7, 2024.

SteamWorld Heist II

After making waves with their original release, Thunderful is set to release SteamWorld Heist II this month

Featuring a water crisis this go-around, SteamWorld Heist II will have players following the story of Captain Leeway and his Steambot crew as they set out to take on the Great Sea menace.

Aiming is a critical part in this title – players will need to use accuracy as they ricochet shots in a world where every move counts. 

There’s also real-time naval combat, enemy bases waiting to be raided, and weapons just waiting to be upgraded.

SteamWorld Heist II will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox SeriesX|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 8, 2024.
