Cosplay Wednesday – Metal Gear Solid’s Laughing Beauty

Cosplay Wednesday - Metal Gear Solid's Laughing Beauty
Fans of Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid series will be able to revisit the games that made Snake (and Raiden for that matter) famous with the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection, due out next week. Containing all four entries of the mainline series (and then some), newcomers and veterans will be able to experience the weird, wild, and wonderful bosses the series has come to offer. In the case of Metal Gear Solid 4’s Laughing Beauty, the last one definitely applies.

Crystal “crystalcosfx” Graziano is what you would call a professional cosplayer. Paying tribute to series like BioWare’s Mass Effect and Namco Bandai’s SoulCalibur, she has gotten the attention of many game creators through her Precious Cosplay line of renditions. She has even been sponsored by Red 5 to promote Firefall.

But one of her crown jewels would be her cosplay of Metal Gear Solid 4’s Laughing Beauty. Based off of the Beauty and the Beast Corps member of the same name, her costume has even gotten the attention of series mastermind Hideo Kojima. Special thanks goes to photography studio BigWhiteBazooka.com, who took these fine photographs.

You can find Crystal Graziano’s Facebook page here, her Twitter here, her Website here, and her DeviantArt page here.

Do you enjoy a bit of weekend cosplay? Or maybe you’re passionate enough to do it full time. Drop me a line at Casey[at]GamersHeroes.com and we’ll feature some of your cosplay.

Casey Scheld has more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry as a community manager, social media director, event specialist, and (of course) gaming editor. He has previously worked with gaming start-ups like Raptr, publishers like Konami, and roller derby girls at PAX West (check out Jam City Rollergirls)! Gamers Heroes is a passion project for him, giving him a chance to tap into the underground side of gaming. He is all too eager to give these lesser-known heroes of the indie space the attention they so rightly deserve, seeking out the next gem and sharing it with the world. Previously making appearances at events like CES, GDC, and (the late) E3, he is all too happy to seek out the next big thing.
