Yars Rising Launching September 10

A celebration of the Yars franchise, WayForward and Atari are set to release Yars Rising for PC and consoles September 10.

Set in a futuristic cyberpunk Yars universe, Yars Rising is a 2D Metroidvania that has the protagonist Emi Kimura infiltrate the shadowy Qotech corporation. Along the way, she will be able to power up and reach previously inaccessible areas.

Emi will also be tasked with solving stimulating minigames that reference the gameplay of the Atari 2600 title Yars’ Revenge. Yars Rising will also put the player’s skills to the test with challenging boss battles at the end of each level, each with their own unique quirks that utilize her diverse skills.

The title is slated to release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Windown PC (via both Steam and the Epic Games Store).

Pre-orders for the physical version of Yars Rising can be done with one’s local retailer, with Deluxe Editions available for both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
