GUNDAM Battle Closed Beta Wraps Up, Coming to NA in 2018

The GUNDAM Battle closed beta for iOS and Android ended this past weekend in China.

The upcoming mobile game is a co-development between publisher and developers KingNet and Bandai Namco Shanghai. GUNDAM Battle will launch in China later this year. The closed beta featured 21 Mobile Suits from several Gundam universes; including but limited to Gundam Wing and Gundam SEED. For all the aficionados, the closed beta had the following mech suits: MSZ-006 Z Gundam [Z Gundam], XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam ZERO [Gundam Wing], and the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos from the recently concluded Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

If the beta is any indication, GUNDAM Battle will have a Story, Arena, and Team Battle modes. Team Battle mode featured up to three players and boss battles. That being said, the bosses can only be challenged once per day. According to KingNet, the beta was extremely successful:

“The highly successful Closed Beta attracted numerous Gundam fans who had been eagerly anticipating a real 3D action mobile game based on the beloved anime franchise. The second- and seven-day retention rates for GUNDAM Battle were 72.5-percent and 47-percent, respectively; impressive numbers that gained industry recognition for being notably higher than other similar games.”

Western fans may have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on this one, as GUNDAM Battle is set for a tentative release sometime in 2018. A trailer for the beta was posted a couple of weeks ago on YouTube. You can view it down below.
