You gotta catch em all! This Pokemon X & Y Capture Guide will go over what Pokemon are available in Route 6 – Palais Lane. Once you get into the mansion courtyard there is entrences to Route 6 on the left and right of where you entered the mansion courtyard. Be careful, there is some deadly Pokemon in the grass if you aren’t ready for Honedge which is a ghost/steal type. There also is some annoying trainers hiding in the tall grass as well.

  • Oddish – Grass/Poison

Pokemon X & Y has some new Pokemon in it, as well as some new evolutions to old classics. This Pokemon X & Y Evolutions Guide will go over some of the more wacky/interesting evolutions that are hard to come by, by yourself. We will be adding interesting evolutions from the community as well as when we find them! For now check out this breakdown of some of the more interesting evolutions in this latest Adventure.

Eevee’s New Fairy Evolution

Who doesn’t want the new adorable version of Eevee? Eevee evolves into Sylveon if you make it like you ecstatically. The safest way to get Eevee to evolve is to play the Pokemon-Amie and boost all of the stats. This will take quite a while, but feed Eevee, Pet Eevee and play all of the games with Eevee until the meters are full on all three levels. Once you get all of the meters maxed out level Eevee and it should evolve into Sylveon.

Tyrunt’s Evolution | Amaura’s Evolution

Tyrunt and Amaura are the fossil Pokemon that you get by picking either the Jaw Fossil or Sail Fossil. Both of these Pokemon evolve at level 39, but there is a catch. When these Pokemon reach 39 you have t o make sure it is during a specific time of day. Tyrunt evolves into Tyrantrum if he hits 39 during the day. Amaura evolves into Aurorus at level 39 if it is night time. I don’t know if they will evolve after level 39, so be careful!

Pancham’s Evolution

Pancham, the fighting type Pokemon evolves into Pangoro a Fighting/Dark type powerhouse. To get Pancham to to evolve however, you are going to need to do a couple of things. First Pancham will have to be at least level 32. After you get Pancham to level 32 you will also have to have a Dark type Pokemon in your party.

Inkay’s Evolution

Inkay has a crazy evolution process to get to Malamar. First you will have to get an Inkay up to level 30. Anytime after level 30 you will have to level up the Inkay while the 3DS handheld is upside down. Stupid, and easy to miss, but I guess it’s a thing.

Goomy’s Evolutions

Goomy is a new Dragon type Pokemon in Pokemon X & Y. Goomy’s first evolution is just a regular level evolution. When Gloomy hits level 40 it will evolve into Sliggoo. The final evoltuion is a little trickier. After Sliggoo hits level 50 it will only evolve into Goodra if it is raining out. Head to Route 14 where it tends to be raining a lot for an easy way to get the newest addition to the Dragon category.

Trade Evoltuions in Pokemon X & Y

Two of the new Pokemon in Pokemon X & Y will only evolve if you trade them with another trainer and are holding a specific object. Spritzee will evolve into Aromatisse if you trade it while it is holding a Sachet. Likewise, Swirlix will evolve into a Slurpuff if you trade the pokemon while it is holding an item called Whipped Dream.

So far that is all of the trickier evolutions for the new Pokemon in X & Y. If you are having a hard time finding an evolution, you can always hit us up in chat. For everything else Pokemon X & Y make sure to check out some more of our Pokemon X & Y articles

Santalune City is the first city that you will come across in the new Pokemon X & Y. The first gym in Pokemon X & Y is a bug type gym. For this gym the best thing to do is to get some Pokemon at least up to level 10. Training with the trainers leading up to the gym will help slow down the beginning grind. Also when you first enter the forest one of your friends will walk behind you and heal Pokemon whenever asked. Grinding in the forest with a healer at your side is also a quick way to grind.

A couple of good Pokemon for the gym include Farfetch’d that you can get by trading any level Bunnelby to a backpacker in the lower left corner house of Santalune City and will be pre-leveld to 10. You can get a Pansear from the forest and level it up to level 10 for it to learn the fire move incinerate that works well against bugs. Fletchling learns Peck at level 10 that is a flying type that will do away with bugs quickly as well. Of course if you started with the fire starter, Fennekin, this gym is probably going to be a breeze. Pikachu can be helpful for the flying bug types. Finally you can find a Dunsparce in rout 3 before Santalune City that won’t be very relevant throughout the rest of the game, but for this gym has a rock type move Rollout that can be devastating in a gym battle especially against bugs.

To get to the different gym leaders make your way across the spider web by following the bubbles. You can make stops off the side to battle with gym trainers to level up your Pokemon before the big fight. There are three different side trainers before the actual gym leader with Pokemon around level 10 to get you ready for the challenge.

The gym leader, Viola, has two Pokemon. The first is a level 10 Surskit which oddly is like a bug water type that is weak to flying, rock and electric moves. The last Pokemon is a level 12 Vivillon which is a bug flying type that is week to electric, rock and flying moves. This butterfly Pokemon also has a healing move that can be quite annoying. After beating Viola you will receive the Bug Badge which will allow you to control traded Pokemon up to level 30 and TM 83 which is Infestation.

Thanks for reading out Santalune City Bug Gym Guide. If you need anymore help in anything Pokemon, make sure to keep checking Gamers Heroes for more updates! We have all kinds of good information up already like where to catch Pikachu and a move type chart for reference.

Who doesn’t love the cutest mascot in maybe all of video games? Pikachu is not necessarily a rare drop in all of the Pokemon games but sometimes he can be hard to corner exactly where this little electrical mouse is going to be. In the new Pokemon X & Y Pikachu can be found very early on in route 3. I found the little guy in a small grass patch directly after the forest. Here are a couple of pics of where to find a memorable friend.

Pikachu is a great early Pokemon. He has high special attack and speed stats that give him an advantage early on. His special characteristic, Static, also works very well in the early goings paralyzing Pokemon that come in contact with them. Pikachu also levels up very quickly in the early game with a lot of bird type Pokemon in the grinding areas. Overall just a great addition to any team early in the new game.
