This whimsical, 3D adventure will transport players to a flooded, post-apocalyptic world. Along the way, players will navigate this world by boat, tuning into Highwater Pirate Radio for unique and original music and commentary crucial for survival.

Players will also be able to find allies that can help fight Highwater’s many different foes. To make things interesting, this title utilizes a turn-based puzzle-combat system. Battles will have players knocking down a tree, pushing a shopping cart into an enemy, or even ducking behind an overturned car.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Review

Shredders Revenge begins with the gang watching the news and eating pizza. The Foot Clan is doing something to the Statue of Liberty, and Bebop has taken over the news studio. Shredder is back, and it is up to you all to stop him. You travel through New York fighting the various turtle villains and Foot Clan elites until you figure out what they are doing with the Statue. The game is short – you will beat it in two to three hours – but it is a fun time.

Shredder’s Revenge is a beat-’em-up through and through. There is one attack button, and that is used for basically everything. You can hold it, combo it with jumps and dives, or spam it for multiple attacks. You do this to charge up your special attack, which can easily clear the screen. You can also taunt, which charges the special meter but leaves you open to attack. If you play online, expect tons of taunting and a bunch of special attacks.

One can play with six people in this game, which means things get crazy on screen. You can be the turtles, as well as Splinter and April. Despite how chaotic it can get with that many players, it is 10x more fun playing with others. With enough players, you all become whirlwinds of destruction, and the Foot Clan soldiers drop like flies. Bosses are a bit more tricky, but you can revive each other if you go down. Just be sure not to all die, because that means you need to reset the level.

All the characters have three stats: speed, strength, and range. Mikey is a fast guy with no range and can build combos quickly. On the other hand, Donatello keeps enemies back easily with his staff but is slow. Leo is an all-rounder and doesn’t excel anywhere. That being said, every character gets the job done and then some. You can always find someone else to enjoy, even if you don’t like a particular character.

While the game is level-based, there is a map you get to go to between levels. Here you can redo other missions, check out your dojo (which shows all the challenges), and drop collectibles off at NPCs you rescue in the stages. You get more points for this, which levels up your character. The levels are an excellent addition to show your progress. You get more lives, extra special attacks, and more special bars. Not groundbreaking, but welcome nonetheless.

The levels themselves only run on average six to ten minutes. That number is perfect, as you never feel like you are overstaying your welcome. As you progress, the bosses become more challenging as well. Bebop rams himself into a wall, making him an easy target early on. Later, a robot boss jumps off the screen and sends Foot Ninjas at you. Instead of beating down the Foot Clan guys, you need to grab them and toss them at the screen. This makes the boss come back down so you can hit him. Again, nothing groundbreaking, but enough to make you think.

I think the biggest problem I had was that I’d lose my turtle sometimes when we had six players. This could just be a me problem, but the bandannas weren’t enough to make Mikey stand out. I realized at the end of the game, you can make it so your player number is over your character, which made it much more manageable.

I did have a couple of bugs online. For example, sometimes, an enemy would be caught in a grapple and nothing could be done. In addition, some of us would be invisible when the level started and couldn’t move. I didn’t have any frame drops or crashes, though; those bugs were rare.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is an excellent callback to the Turtles beat-’em-ups of old. The game is an easy purchase – if you can handle the chaos happening on screen.

Skrillex was originally brought on to remix Hikaru Utada track “Don’t Think Twice,” but the pair’s friendship made them create this song to celebrate the game’s release. A new and original collaboration, acclaimed record producer Poo Bear has also lent his talents to this work. “Face My Fears” will be released alongside Don’t Think Twice on January 18, 2019.

Kingdom Hearts III will feature a number of worlds based around different Disney properties, including the Kingdom of Corona from Tangled, Monsters, Inc’s Monstropolis, San Fransokyo’s Big Hero 6, Arendelle from Frozen, and Toy Story’s Toy Box.

Attacks inspired by the Disney Parks attractions will also be included, including “Mad Tea Party,” “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters,” “Grizzly River Run,” and “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.”

The game will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29 stateside.

Those who buy the Season Pass (or Far Cry 5 Gold Edition) will continue their uncanny adventures in the following three pieces of DLC:

• Hours of Darkness: Players will travel back in time to Vietnam to battle against Việt Cộng soldiers and save their fellow soldiers
• Dead Living Zombies: Players will team up with friends to fight waves of zombies across seven different scenarios cooked up by a b-movie director
• Lost on Mars: Players will leave Earth behind to go toe-to-claws with martian arachnids to save Earth from an alien invasion

All Far Cry 5 Season Pass owners on consoles will receive the single-player content from Far Cry 3 Classic Edition. This will be available to season pass holders four weeks prior to launching as a standalone purchase in summer 2018. PC players can get the full version of Far Cry 3 at a later date, following the launch of Far Cry 5.

Finally, all Far Cry 5 players will have access to Far Cry Arcade. This is an evolution of the map editor, and will deliver a large amount of free gameplay and map creation opportunities for players. Included are assets from previous Far Cry games, along with assets from other Ubisoft titles, including Watch_Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Assassin’s Creed Unity. Plays can make solo, co-op and PvP multiplayer experiences.

Update 1.7 is the first of two free updates planned for Year 2 of the game. Included is the following:

• Global Events – The update will introduce a new event system that will challenge players to find new ways to play through time-limited activities and new gameplay modifiers. New events will be available regularly and will grant exclusive rewards on completion. Players will be able to activate additional modifiers for some missions and incursions, adding an extra layer of challenge that gives them a chance to yield more rewards.
• Commendations – Previously called feats, commendations are part of a new built-in achievement system that provides players with a series of tasks and subsequent rewards.
• Encrypted Caches – Caches are loot boxes with random customization items and emotes inside. Players will be able to obtain caches by gathering keys in the world, or they can purchase them with premium credits.
• New Gear and Customization Options – New gear includes classified gear sets, new face masks and arm patches. Players will also be able to re-customize their agents for free at the barbershop.
• Survival Improvements – New scoring items will allow players to achieve higher scores. And the reward economy has been reworked so that time investment is more on par with other activities.
